Brief Biography
Nathan Klatt is an entrepreneur, connector, and leader. After nearly 20 years of experience with global consulting firms, Nathan launched Rockport Investment Partners in 2015 with a mission to serve corporate management, asset managers, investors, private companies and business owners with high impact professional services.
Nathan actively builds relationships, collaborates with strategic partners and organizations, and leads consulting engagements with numerous clients in Fairfield County/Connecticut, Texas, New York, and other U.S. markets. Nathan is guided by core values that resonate in the marketplace and cares deeply to solve the challenges faced by his clients.
Professional Summary
Nathan Klatt is the Founder and a Managing Director of Rockport Investment Partners and oversees all activities of the firm. Nathan continues to build Rockport into a firm that serves clients through collaborative partnerships with boutique consulting firms, investment banks, and industry experts. Nathan is ordinarily leading 10-15 different engagements at different stages supported by multiple business partners to meet the specific needs of each and every client. Nathan’s current focus is the following:
- Building relationships with professional services firms, trusted advisors, and owners of private companies
- Serving as a transaction leader and/or advisor for clients that pursue a merger or acquisition
- Developing and delivering valuation analyses that support transactions and/or meet the needs for compliance purposes
- Leading several Austin-based food and beverage startup companies in the role of Chief Financial Officer.
Prior to the founding of Rockport Investment Partners, Nathan led business development for Capstone Advisory Group’s Valuation Practice. Nathan established key relationships in New York and Fairfield County and was successful at selling and executing numerous valuation and transaction advisory engagements.
Prior to this role, Nathan served in Deloitte’s National Office in Fairfield County where he directed and advised approximately 500 Deloitte valuation partners and professionals through a national program to effectively and efficiently provide audit support as valuation specialists. Nathan’s efforts focused on business growth, building relationships, directing and managing change in Deloitte valuation and audit organizations, and improving the quality of work product of Deloitte professionals. Nathan provided direction and support to Deloitte’s National Office senior leadership in order to impact the audit practice in best practices and processes to audit fair value measurements. Nathan was a regular speaker and presenter at Deloitte seminars, webcasts, and training events. In addition, Nathan supported Deloitte’s Fairfield County office business development activities and directed strategic client service engagements.
Prior to Nathan’s national role and move to Connecticut, he served in the Deloitte’s Financial Advisory Services practice in Houston and KPMG’s Audit and Advisory practice in Austin and San Antonio. Through this experience, Nathan developed a passion for client service through activities such as: leading and managing projects; coordinating information gathering and due diligence; analyzing financial and market data; preparing and delivering reports and analyses; and presenting results to client management.
During his career, Nathan served clients in a variety of industries including: asset management, healthcare, food and beverage, manufacturing and distribution, consumer and industrial products, energy, technology and media, and public services.
Nathan has been active in his community, serving in various leadership roles in youth organizations with a goal to improve the lives of Wilton and Weston families. Nathan is the former Committee Chair of Young Life – Wilton/Weston, an ecumenical youth outreach organization. Nathan served as President of Weston Little League for three years and supports the organization in an advisory capacity. Nathan worked with Weston soccer and basketball leadership organizations, and has coached his children’s teams during the past several years. Nathan utilized his personal and professional networks to lead fundraising efforts for multiple organizations.
